NEUROPHYSIOLOGY
Neurophysiology
Neurophysiology is the branch of physiology that studies the nervous system. The nervous system is involved in every action and behavior of an organism. Any change in its development is the result of functional modifications within this system.
Electroencephalography (EEG)
Recording of the brain’s electrical activity, useful for the diagnosis of paroxysmal events and epilepsy, as well as for evaluating baseline brain activity and determining the level of electrical maturation in children and adults.
Video EEG Telemetry
It is a paraclinical study that records the brain’s electrical activity together with synchronized video, allowing correlation between clinical manifestations and electrical findings to diagnose difficult-to-control epilepsies and differentiate between psychogenic non-epileptic events (pseudoseizures) and epileptic seizures.
This test improves diagnostic accuracy, reduces healthcare costs, and enhances quality of life. It is performed in both children and adults.
